Inspections

Inspection software for the walkthroughs you already do

MaintainIQ is inspection software for facility inspections, safety walks, manager walkthroughs and mock health inspections, done on a phone instead of a clipboard. Every inspection is scored, and failed items turn into follow-up tasks with a due date, so problems get fixed instead of filed.

  • Unlimited users per location
  • iPhone, iPad, Android and web

Walk

Walk the building with a phone, not a clipboard

Set up each inspection in sections that follow the way you walk the place, like Exterior, Front of House, Kitchen and Restrooms, or start from one of more than 50 ready templates built around common rules such as the FDA Food Code, NFPA 10 and 96, ASME A17.1 and OSHA. Managers answer each question as they go on the phone or tablet they already carry, and submit it when they finish. Nothing to type up back in the office.

  • The same inspection used at every location
  • Photos as proof and e-signatures
  • Works with no signal, in a basement or on the roof, and syncs later
  • iPhone, iPad, Android and web, in English or Spanish

Score

Every inspection ends with a score and a grade

When an inspection is submitted, MaintainIQ scores it as a percentage and a letter grade. For each location you see who did the last inspection, when, and what it scored, so the location sitting at a C stands out next to the ones at an A.

  • Last inspector, date and score for every location
  • One-click PDF reports to share or file
  • Export all scores to Excel to compare locations

Fix

Failed items turn into follow-up tasks

An inspection that finds a burned-out exit sign and changes nothing is just paperwork. In MaintainIQ a failed item becomes a follow-up task with a due date and a status. You decide on each inspection whether follow-ups are optional or required, and managers get a summary of what is still open.

  • Statuses of needs attention, in progress and closed
  • Follow-up task summary emails and reminder emails
  • Open a work order when the fix needs a repair

Health inspections

Practice for the health inspector with mock inspections

Run a mock health inspection built from the items your inspector looks at, and fix what fails before the real visit. Our free health inspection checklist is a good list of questions to start from. After the real visit, the Compliance tab keeps each location's last health inspection date, status and score.

  • Scored the same way at every location
  • Last health inspection per location on the Home screen

Straight answer

Your inspections, not the official ones

MaintainIQ's ready templates are built around common rules, but they are not certified, and no app can promise you will pass a visit. Your own inspections do not replace the ones the health department, fire marshal or elevator inspector must do. What they do is help you find and fix problems before those visits. If you want a starting list of questions, our free checklists below are a good place to begin.

What is inspection software?

Inspection software lets you run inspections on a phone or tablet instead of a paper form. Each inspection is saved with who did it and when, it gets a score, and failed items become follow-up tasks, so problems get fixed instead of filed in a binder.

What is the difference between an inspection and an audit?

An inspection is a walk through a place to find what is wrong right now, like a blocked exit or a dirty hood filter. An audit scores a location against your own standards, repeated over time so you can compare locations. MaintainIQ runs both the same way. See internal audit software.

Can I run mock health inspections in MaintainIQ?

Yes. Build a mock health inspection from the items your health department checks, score it, and turn failed items into follow-up tasks. The Compliance tab also shows each location's last real health inspection date, status and score, so you can see which locations need practice.

Who can do inspections in MaintainIQ?

Anyone you add to your team. MaintainIQ is priced per location with unlimited users, so general managers, area managers, maintenance leads and shift leads can each have a login and you do not pay per inspector. Each person has a title at each location, like General Manager.

Can I compare inspection scores across locations?

Yes. For each location MaintainIQ shows the last inspector, the date and the score with a letter grade. You can export all scores to Excel when you want to compare locations side by side or track one location over a few months.

Does the inspection app work without a signal?

Yes. MaintainIQ works with no signal, so you can finish an inspection in a basement, a walk-in or the far corner of a parking lot, and it syncs when the phone is back online. Photos you add as proof are saved with the inspection, so the record shows what you saw.

Do failed items have to be fixed?

That is up to you. On each inspection you choose whether follow-up tasks are optional or required. A follow-up task has a due date and a status, needs attention, in progress or closed, so you can see at a glance what is still open at each location.
